The Tatum Classic

The Tatum Classic is a trail race held at Tatum Park in Middletown Township, New Jersey. The event uses a repeatable 4.75 mile loop that passes through maintained fields, wooded trail sections, park paths, and rolling terrain around the park perimeter. The start and finish area is at the picnic area by the Holland Activity Center.

Distance options include:

  • 50kmish
  • 30kmish (19 miles)
  • 1 lap (4.75 miles)

Timing is managed with an RFID system that records each lap as runners pass the start/finish area. The 50km field has an overall time cutoff of eight hours. There is one main aid station located at the start/finish area offering drinks, snacks, prepared foods, basic first aid supplies, and ice; there are no aid stations out on the course. Runners may bring their own supplies to the picnic area. Spectators are allowed; pacers require prior approval from race directors.

The event benefits MissionCleanWater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on delivering and maintaining reliable clean water systems. The organization emphasizes long term reliability, local management, preventative maintenance, and repair support for projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
