Turf Wars 2026

Turf Wars 2026 is an athletic challenge presented by Tone House at Chelsea Waterside Park in New York on June 13, 2026. The event features ten sports conditioning based events that combine endurance, strength, and agility movements, plus a surprise Wild Card finisher that follows the main sequence.

The competition uses a redesigned format of three Performance Zones. Individual competitors complete all three Zones with mandatory five minute refuel intervals between Zones. Doubles and four person teams compete as a gauntlet on a single running clock without mandatory refuel windows; doubles teams must each attempt at least five events and team members must each attempt at least three events. An Elite individual division requires competitors to wear a GORUCK vest and is scored separately.

Each Zone has a 15 minute time cap. Zone 1 focuses on speed and skill and includes multiple sprints, running segments, and a 1 mile run. Zone 2 emphasizes aerobic engine work with rowing, Echo bike calories, and sled pushes; prescribed volumes differ between Individuals and Doubles/Teams (for example an Individual performs a 500 m row and a 40/30 Echo bike calorie target). Zone 3 centers on load and power with sandbag clean and press sets, lateral drops, and a sandbag harness sprint with walking lunges; doubles and teams perform higher repetition totals. A Wild Card event takes place immediately after Zone 3. Movement standards are enforced and failure to meet standards after one warning can result in disqualification.

Divisions include Individual, Doubles, and Team. Division winners receive medals and prize packages, and individual champions receive a cash prize and the titles of Man and Woman of the House. All competitors receive a full adidas apparel and footwear kit valued at over $500; registration by May 13 was required to guarantee the kit.
