The Stockville
The Stockville is a two-day foot and navigation event held in central Pennsylvania. The format is inspired by mountain marathons and uses a linear point to point course. Each morning racers receive maps that show the day’s route and checkpoint clues. Maps are printed on water resistant paper and may use 1:24,000 or 1:30,000 scale.
The event includes a communal midcamp where the final checkpoint on Day 1 and the start area for Day 2 meet. Midcamp is a shared camping area; tents and cooking supplies are transported there by organizers. Racers must carry all of their food and most of their gear for the duration of the event. Organizers may perform spot gear checks and impose penalties for missing mandatory items.
There is a required route each day that all racers must complete to officially finish. Additional optional checkpoints are available for faster or more experienced teams and typically involve more advanced off trail navigation. Divisions include solo racers and teams of two to four, single gender or mixed gender. The event is planned for November 14 and 15, 2026, with permitting pursued in Tiadaghton State Forest. Entry items typically include custom swag, live tracking, safety support, midcamp snacks, camping at midcamp, on course logistics, and post race pizza.
