The Revolution : Putnam Memorial State Park
The Revolution is a new timed trail race introduced for 2026 at Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding, Connecticut. The course is a 1.776 mile loop created as a tribute to the signing date of the Declaration of Independence. Runners pass the park's historic features associated with the Continental Army winter encampment of 1779.
The loop is primarily on carriage roads with a few short sections of singletrack and generally gentle terrain. The event offers three timed formats: 12 hour, 6 hour, and 3 hour. Participants complete the loop as many times as they can within their chosen time window; only fully completed laps count toward totals.
On course support includes a start and finish aid station with water, electrolyte drink, and typical aid station food items. The event is cupless, so participants are required to carry their own hydration bottle, pack, or cup. Port a johns are available near the start and finish.
Event policies emphasize leaving no litter, following marked routes, and yielding to other trail users. Runners are responsible for knowing the course and are encouraged to use the provided .gpx file for navigation. There are finisher medals, sponsor swag, and overall podium awards for the top three male and female finishers in each format. Entry fees are non refundable and non transferrable and are used to develop and produce the event.
July conditions in western Connecticut can be warm, with typical highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
