About the Event
The Revolution is a new trail running event organized by Steep Endurance. It takes place at Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding, Connecticut. This location was a historic winter encampment site for the Continental Army during the revolutionary war in 1779.
The Course
Participants run a 1.776-mile loop inside the eastern side of the park, a distance chosen as a tribute to the year the Declaration of Independence was signed. The loop passes by historic features within the park. The terrain is described as fairly gentle, using mostly carriage roads with some single-track trail and grass.
Race Format
Runners can choose from three timed race options:
- 12-hour race
- 6-hour race
- 3-hour race
The goal is to complete as many loops as possible within the chosen time period.
Post-Race and Other Details
After the race, a post-race spread will be available, including items like bagels, bananas, pizza, and non-alcoholic drinks. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to the Friends and Neighbors (FANS) of Putnam Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
