The Possum at Woolly Hollow

The Possum at Woolly Hollow is a six hour, four person team running event scheduled for November 7, 2026 at Woolly Hollow State Park in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Teams of four share laps around Lake Bennett on a course that uses roads and the Huckleberry trail. The event is based at the pavilion in the center of the park.

The course proceeds counter-clockwise from the pavilion down the park entrance road to the spillway waterfall, then turns left onto the Huckleberry trail to circumnavigate Lake Bennett, continues to Gold Creek Loop, and returns to the pavilion.

Team rules require all four team members to run the first loop together. After the first loop, any number of team members may run together for a loop, but those running a given loop must stay together for its duration. Each completed loop by a runner earns one entry into the post race prize drawing. The team with the most entries chooses its prize first; ties are broken by the first placed finishing member of a team on loop one. A team may not win more than one prize in the drawing.

Prizes include four free entries to the upcoming January Woolly Hollow Trail Half Marathon, four free entries to the January Village Creek 25k, and four $50 gift cards to UltraSignup.com. Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026; the registration fee is $40.00. Proceeds will fund projects to support a school and similar educational efforts in Honduras.
