Race the Base Trail Run : Pinnacle Mountain State Park

Race the Base Trail Run takes place on October 31, 2026 at Pinnacle Mountain State Park Day Use Area, Stuckey Field at Barrett Rd and HWY 300, Roland AR. The event features multiple trail distances that use the Base Trail and sections of the Monument Trail system.

The course for the Monumental Half Marathon follows the base of Pinnacle Mountain and Monument Trails and includes rugged single track, rolling climbs, and technical trail features. The 4 mile loop follows the Base Trail, starts on gravel, moves to paved trail, and finishes with about 2.75 miles of technical single track that includes a steep climb known as Joe's Revenge that rises roughly 200 feet in one third of a mile.

Field entries are limited to 250 runners across distances. Online registration includes a commemorative technical t shirt and post race refreshments. Awards are three deep for overall male and female, plus age group awards in the listed brackets, and hand painted "rock" trophies for top finishers. The event coincides with National Trick or Treat Day and includes costume friendly activities. Race production is managed by Ozark Foundation beginning in 2025. A community trail run and hike at Blue Mountain Natural Area in Roland, AR on May 2, 2026, featuring a 3-mile runner/walker, free registration, and post-activity tacos, coffee and mariachi.

An endurance event at Pinnacle Mountain on May 9, 2026 with a 3.1 mile trail loop that begins every hour. Runners may stop after any loop without penalty and official timing records completed loops and combined time.
