The Pemberton 24
The Pemberton 24 is a 24-hour running event in Salisbury, Maryland that lets individuals and four-person teams run repeated 5K loops on the trails of Pemberton Park. A new 5K begins each hour during the 24-hour period. Participants may run any number of the hourly 5Ks and may skip events between runs.
An aid station at the start/finish will offer cold water, snacks, gels, sodas, and other items. Participants are encouraged to set up a camp area at the venue to rest, sleep, and connect with other participants and volunteers between runs.
This is a cupless race. All runners must bring their own hydration, a headlamp for nighttime running, and a chair to rest between events. Bibs must be visible at all times to receive credit.
Traditional chip timing is not used. Runners earn points for each completed 5K when they start with the group and finish within the hour. Scoring includes one point per 5K (up to 24), bonus points for runs during the midnight to 4:00 AM window, placing points for the top five finishers per 5K, and a 10-point bonus for completing all 24 events. In case of a tie, a 0.6-mile sprint decides the winner.
The event includes individual and team divisions, awards for top finishers, and rules that prohibit bib transfers, off-course running, pacers on course, and animals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
