The Oldman Backyard Ultra

The Oldman Backyard Ultra is a running event held in Lethbridge, Alberta, beside the Oldman River amidst rolling coulees. It is one of Alberta's first Backyard Ultras.

The event follows the standard Backyard Ultra format. Runners start every hour, on the hour, and must complete a 6.7 km loop within that hour. They can then rest until the next start. The event continues until only one runner remains, earning the title "Last person Standing."

The registration fee includes a premium garment from Rabbit, a catered dinner on May 1st, and aid station support. All proceeds and donations from this non-profit event are directed to Youth One, a youth and family centre in Lethbridge that provides free mentorship-based programs and support services.

This event is one of six Silver Ticket events in Canada for 2026. The winner receives automatic placement on Team Canada. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
