Lost Soul Ultra

The race takes place in the Oldman River valley of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The event notes it is held on the lands of the Blackfoot people and shared with the Cree and Metis. The trails run near a site associated with one of the last large battles between the Blackfoot and Cree.

One lap measures 50 km with approximately 1,100 m (3,600') of elevation change. Most hills are about 50 to 80 m in height and there are roughly 14 such hills per lap.

Distances offered:

  • 100 Mile - 3 laps plus an extra 9 km loop, 33-hour cutoff, Western States qualifier.
  • 100 km - 2 laps (102 km), 21-hour cutoff, Western States qualifier.
  • 50 km - 1 lap, 11-hour cutoff.

Finishers receive a large etched rock. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age on race day.

A partial credit schedule for next year is provided: 100% credit through Feb 27; 90% on Mar 1; 80% on Apr 1; 70% on May 1; 60% on June 1; 50% on July 1; 30% on Aug 1; and a $50 credit from Aug 11 to Sep 9. The Oldman Backyard Ultra is a non profit backyard ultra held May 2 2026 at Pavan Park in Lethbridge Alberta. Runners complete a 6.7 km loop each hour and may attempt 1 5 10 or 50 laps while proceeds support Youth One.

A 20 mile trail run through the coulees of Lethbridge, open to solo runners and teams up to five people. The hilly course has little shade and water is available at transition locations.

A two hour in person fitness challenge at Legacy Park in Lethbridge that places adults, children and K9 on a military style course. Organized by Zulu Challenge with tickets from CAD 57.31 to 107.64 and a no refunds policy.
