The New Year's Duathlon

The event takes place on Saturday, January 2, 2027 at Granite Beach in Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. It offers a multi-sport duathlon and a separate 5K trail run that uses nature trails with lake views.

Distances:

  • Duathlon: 2 mile run, 5 mile bike, 2 mile run
  • 5K trail run: nature trails and lake views

The 5 mile bike course is entirely within the park on roads closed to traffic and begins and ends at the transition area at Granite Beach. The duathlon is open to individuals and to two-person relay teams. Overall results will be posted for all finishers.

Awards are given to the first overall male and female in each race and to the top three finishers in each ten-year age group. Race packets are available on race morning at the race site.

Entry fees vary by event and by registration date, with higher fees for later registration and race-day entry. The organizer has a no refund policy; refunds requested before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee.
