The Muddy Duck
The Muddy Duck is a spring trail running event held on the Rocks and Roots Trail at Alum Creek State Park, with the start area just off Hollenback Road south of the dog park (3993 Hollenback Rd, Lewis Center, OH 43035). The organizer notes the trail changes with the seasons and expects muddy conditions for this event.
Distances offered:
- 6K
- 10K (about 6.2 miles)
- 20K (about 13.1 miles)
- 50K
Course layout uses two main loops. The north loop is used in a clockwise direction for one of the 10K segments and the south loop is run counter-clockwise for the other 10K segment. Loops alternate as needed to reach each event distance. The 6K route is an abbreviated version of the north loop, taking a shortcut near the 1 mile mark and rejoining the north loop after a short emergency access trail. Course layout is subject to change.
There is a no refund and no bib transfer policy for all events. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Columbus in Lewis Center on the Thursday and Friday before race week, and race day packet pickup is provided at the race site. Entry fees vary by date, increasing from $45 through December 31 up to $70 on and after April 1. The event includes an event shirt and medal for participants.
