The Marton Mile is a community fundraising event on Sunday, 30 November 2025. It is a one-mile walk, jog, or run held on the Lias Line Greenway near Marton. The route is described as flat, off-road and paved, and traffic-free. The event is organised by a local resident from Church Street as part of personal fundraising in aid of the charity Shelter.

Participants may complete the mile at their own pace. The event is described as dog- and family-friendly and informal. It is limited to a maximum of 100 entrants.

Logistics

Location is the Greenway off Fields Farm Lane, Marton, Rugby, CV23 9RS, heading towards Hunningham High Bridge. There is no designated parking for the Greenway; on-street parking in Marton Village is about a 5-10 minute walk from the start. Attendees are asked to park considerately.

Enjoy a festive run through Salcey Forest's tree lined trails with 10k, 5k and a junior fun run supporting Shelter. Expect mixed terrain, bespoke medals, free photos and a prize for best seasonal fancy dress.

Tackle an undulating winter cross country on Sunday 28 December 2025 at Acresford Sand and Gravel in Huncote, featuring Croft Hill and a stream for a scenic but testing 10K. Junior one and two lap races share the same start and finish.

Run a fast, accurately measured 10K at Northampton Racecourse Park on 11 January, three laps of scenic pathways with trophies and a bespoke medal. The family friendly race supports Umbrella Fair Northampton and accepts on the day entries.

Take part in Festive 5 on 11 Jan 2026, a 5 mile off road run along the River Avon through Fladbury and Lower Moor. Organised by Friends of Fladbury, this fundraiser offers free cake, spot prizes and supports local community projects.
