Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra
Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra takes place in Riverview and Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, on September 19, 2026. The course circles a section of the Petitcodiac River and spans both communities.
The event uses an hourly loop of 6.7 km. A bell sounds each hour and runners have one hour to complete the loop; runners who do not return within the hour are out. There is no predetermined distance or fixed finish line; the event ends when one person remains.
The route crosses two bridges, two parks, two boardwalks and includes a beer garden. The Riverview side provides a range of amenities while the Moncton side is more natural. The course offers an almost unobstructed view in many places so crews and spectators can follow progress from multiple viewpoints.
Participants are encouraged to represent their running clubs by wearing club gear. Personal canopies or shelters are not allowed. Run clubs may use a designated area but must staff their canopy at all times and be prepared to take it down quickly if winds demand it.
Prizes and recognition include Last Person Standing 1000 CA$ and trophy, The Assist 500 CA$ and trophy, Opposite Sex of LPS 300 CA$ and trophy with a noted adjustment to 800 CA$ in a specific case. All participants receive a finishing medal, swag, a Long Run wrist band and a T-shirt. Recognition wrist bands are issued for 25+, 50+, 75+ and 100+ miles and there is an Ultra Elite Club for runners who exceed 100 km.
Published registration pricing shows CA$107.09 for early bird and CA$139.50 for regular registration. Available spots are indicated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
