The Ivy Trek Ultra : Clarkco State Park, Quitman MS

The Ivy Trek Ultra is a trail running event held at Clarkco State Park in Quitman, Mississippi. The program offers three distances:

  • 50K four laps of the course
  • 25K two laps of the course
  • 12.5K one lap of the course

The course is a 7.78 mile loop composed mostly of double track with some single track sections. The route includes several bridges, the Gold Fish Pond, and recurring views of Ivy Lake. Trails are described as wide and runnable while the terrain remains hilly. The start, split, and finish area is at Pavilion 2 near parking and large grass areas suitable for tents and picnic setups. On site camping, cabins, and RV pads are available through the park; overnight fees for those accommodations are not included with race entry.

Aid is provided by one aid station on the loop and the start/finish area. Participants must carry a personal water container; coolers are provided for refills. RFID chip timing is used and split times are recorded, with a results kiosk on site. All participants must finish within a 10 hour time limit; participants who do not start their final loop by early afternoon may be asked to end their race and will be listed by laps completed. This all-terrain run and ruck event supports veterans and their families. The 5K and 2-mile courses take place on the trails of Camp Meridale. Proceeds benefit programs for military service members.
