The Howling Ghost Trail Race
The Howling Ghost Trail Race : Springwater Conservation Area, Aylmer
The event takes place on September 26, 2026 at Springwater Conservation Area, 47719 Conservation Line, Aylmer, ON. Runners follow trails that are mostly wide and groomed; participants complete one, two, or three loops of the 8 km base course depending on their race choice.

Headlamps are mandatory for the night race. Registration includes park admission for runners; vehicle occupants not registered must pay park fees separately. All events are electronically timed by Chiptime Results; the timing chip is attached to the bib.
There is a main aid station near the start/finish/interloop area with access every 8 km, plus an additional hydration station on course. The event is cupless; participants should bring a cup or bottle. Public washrooms are available at the start/finish/interloop area.
Day race entrants receive a combed cotton long sleeve tee (men's or women's cut); night race entrants receive a Howling Ghost toque. Each finisher receives a custom medal with different colours for day and night. Awards are given to top finishers by gender in each event when at least three runners per gender category are present. Race photography is provided and photos are free to download. A portion of event proceeds benefits the Children's Health Foundation. The event has a credit-based withdrawal policy and does not allow bib transfers. Camping is available at Springwater. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
