Polar Paws 2026 is a winter trail running event on January 17, 2026 at Long Point Eco-Adventures in St. Williams, Ontario, near Turkey Point on the shores of Lake Erie. Distances offered include 5k, 10k and 25k, plus dog-only 5k and 10k events. The event supports the Simcoe District Humane Society and will donate a portion of registration proceeds.
Course, logistics and rules
The course is a 5k loop on single and double track trails with climbing, rollers, narrow edge sections and bridges. The 10k is two loops and the 25k is five loops, with an aid station at the start/finish area supplying water, electrolytes and snacks. Timing will be by chip. The event is 100% cupless; participants must bring their own drinking vessel or hydration system with insulation for tubes. The Marshview building provides indoor washrooms, hot showers, registration/packet pick up, and post-race food and awards. On-site parking is available but limited.
Dog participants must be leashed (maximum 6 feet), no retractable leashes, and canicross-style control is preferred. Reactive dogs are allowed and will be identified with a yellow sleeve. Traction on shoes may be mandatory if trails are icy; snowshoes, headphones and strollers or sleds are not allowed on course.
