Course, rules and facilities
The course is a roughly 5k loop used for all distances: the 10k is two loops and the 25k is five loops. Trails are single and double track, often snow-covered, with climbs, rollers, narrow edge sections and bridges. There is a time limit of 4.5 hours.
Dog rules and safety: dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 ft, no retractable leashes, and CANICROSS style is preferred. Reactive dogs are welcome and visible sleeves will be available; owners must pick up after their dogs. Organizers may prevent dog participation if weather threatens animal welfare. For humans, traction devices may be mandatory on icy trails; snowshoes are not allowed. Services at the Marshview building include indoor washrooms, hot showers, registration area, post-race food and awards. There is one aid station at the start/finish with water, electrolytes and snacks. The event is 100% cupless, so participants must bring their own drinking vessel. Free high-resolution digital race photos are included. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
