Polar Paws Winter Trail Race - 2027
Polar Paws Winter Trail Race takes place on January 16, 2027 at Long Point Eco Adventures in St. Williams, near Turkey Point on the shores of Lake Erie. The event uses a 5 km loop of single and double track featuring climbs, rollers, some narrow edge sections and bridges. Races are run as multiple laps: the loop is 5 km, the 10 km is two laps and the longest distance is five laps.

There will be one aid station at the start/finish area offering water, Skratch Labs electrolytes and broth. The event is 100% cupless; participants must bring their own drinking vessel or hydration system and insulate hydration tubes if used. Porta potties will be on site. Registration and race kit pick-up occur on site near the start/finish area.
Dog policies: dogs are allowed only in the 5 km and 10 km categories; dogs are not permitted in the 25 km. Dogs must be leashed (maximum 6 feet), no retractable leashes, owners must pick up waste, and aggressive or dog-reactive animals are not allowed. Dogs must be properly dressed for cold weather; participation of dogs may be restricted by the race director for safety.
Other rules and facilities: traction on shoes may be mandatory if trails are icy; snowshoes are not allowed; no headphones or strollers/sleds on course; pop-up change tents and a heated indoor facility are available for registration and post-race food and awards. All participants receive a handcrafted soap and a bottle of maple syrup; dogs receive paw balm. Top three overall women, men and non-binary finishers in each category receive prizes. Free high-resolution digital photos are included. Time limit for completion is 4 hours 45 minutes. Transfer and registration insurance options exist.
