Holmdel, United States • 12 Dec 2026
Event Overview
The Holmdel Classic is a trail race taking place in Holmdel Park, Monmouth County, New Jersey. All proceeds from the event go to MissionCleanWater, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water systems to underserved communities. The race features a strict eight-hour cutoff time.
Course Details
The race takes place on a loop course in Holmdel Park. The loop is 4.65 miles long. The terrain is approximately 95% trail and double track, with 584 feet of elevation gain per lap. The route includes grass, dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, pavement, inclines, declines, and open fields.
There are three race distances:
- 50K (ish): 7 laps.
- Halfish: 3 laps.
- 1 lap: 4.65 miles.
The course starts in an open grass field, features a significant uphill climb shortly after the start, and passes through a signature feature called "The Bowl" around mile 1.5. The event uses lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs on cones for course markings. Timing is done via an RFID system that records each completed lap.
Event Information
The park opens at 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. The race start is at 8:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.
An aid station at the start/finish line offers a variety of drinks, snacks, hydration, and first aid. Hot drinks may be available. There are no aid stations along the course itself. Runners may bring their own supplies. Spectators are allowed, but pacers are not permitted on the course.
The event is scheduled for December, and the race will continue regardless of weather conditions unless the county parks department deems it unsafe due to lightning or heavy snow. There are no planned rain dates or refunds, but registrations may be deferred to other 2026 races if requested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
