The Holmdel Classic

Holmdel, United States • 13 Dec 2025

Event

The Holmdel Classic is scheduled for December 13, 2025 in Holmdel Park, Holmdel, New Jersey (44 Longstreet Rd). It is offered in two distance formats:

  • 50 km (ish) - 7 laps of the 4.65-mile course
  • Halfish - 3 laps of the 4.65-mile course

Course

Each lap is 4.65 miles, composed of about 95% trail and double track with 584 feet of elevation gain per lap. The route mixes grass, dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, pavement, uphills, and downhills and includes a notable feature called "The Bowl." Directional guidance will use lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs on cones.

Logistics

The event uses RFID timing and records each lap. There is a strict 8-hour cutoff (4.07 mph). An aid station will be located at the start/finish area only; there will be no aid stations on course. Food will not be prepared on site; there will be drinks, snacks, hydration, and first aid. Participants may carry their own supplies. Spectators are allowed; pacers are not permitted. The race will proceed in most weather conditions unless Monmouth County parks deems conditions unsafe due to lightning or heavy snow. No refunds are planned for weather-related cancellations; deferrals to other 2026 races may be available.

All proceeds benefit MissionCleanWater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on providing and maintaining clean water systems. Fundraising participants who raise $500 qualify for a full refund and guaranteed entry to future races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
