The Highwayman Trail Marathon
Thaxted, United Kingdom • 5 May 2024
The Highwayman Trail Marathon is a narrative trail race following a route around the villages of Thaxted, Great Sampford, and Hempstead associated with the early years of the life of Dick Turpin. The route is 95% off-road on a wide variety of terrain, and participants are expected to run with a mobile phone for safety. The race starts and finishes at The Thaxted Church Hall, with 5 well-stocked checkpoints along the way. The event is cupless, so participants need to bring their own cups, and there will be hot food at the finish line. The race is run under permit from The Trail Running Association, and the price is £29. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
