The Great Sprout Scuttle and Pyjama Express

The event takes place on 13th December 2026 at Normanby Hall Country Park & Gardens. It comprises multiple festive running activities across the park and grounds, with facilities for club tents and spectator areas.

Events include:

  • 5k trail run, dog friendly
  • 10k trail run, licensed through the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics guidance
  • 3k Pyjama Express family fun run, untimed and run in waves of 200

The Pyjama Express is a family oriented untimed 3 km route with festive zones. Participants receive a hot chocolate coupon, a cookie, a candy cane and a commemorative Curly’s event medal. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is required for all participants.

Santa's Super Sleigh Team Challenge asks teams to fundraise for Lindsey Lodge Hospice. Entry includes a £50 upfront donation and teams are asked to aim for a £300 fundraising target. The challenge is limited to twelve teams, is suitable for participants aged 16 and over, and runs over an around 2 km course with teams formed of Santa and supporting reindeer crew using a wheeled sleigh.

Trail runs nearby

Two waymarked trail races of 5 km and 10 km take place around Kirkby Fleetham on 9 June 2026, both finishing at the village hall. Routes run through fields, farms and forestry and are open to participants aged 16 and above.

Trail races from Chop Gate with three distances : Marathon (28), Half 16.5 and 10k 9.5. Entries limited to 330, mandatory safety kit is required and competitors must print route maps and navigate themselves.

Trail races at Forcett Hall on a historic estate, offering 5 km, 10 km (two laps) and a 5 km walk over pasture, tracks and woodland; trail shoes recommended and places are limited to 200 entrants.

An all night trail run across the North York Moors starting and finishing at Goathland Village Hall. Entrants receive a tracker, a GPX route and checkpoint support with food and drinks, and all finishers receive a Lamplighter medal.
