The Gambler Last Man Standing
The Gambler Last Man Standing is a lap-style endurance event held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. Competitors run a marked 2-mile loop that is mostly trail with some short road sections and a lakeside segment. Each 2-mile lap has an elevation gain of 183 feet.
Each lap must be completed within a time limit to remain in the competition. For the first 50 laps the standard time limit is 40 minutes per lap. After 50 laps (100 miles) poker chips are no longer awarded, cash-out options end, pacers are not allowed, and each subsequent lap’s time limit decreases by 2 minutes per lap until one runner remains.
The event uses a poker chip system. Runners earn one poker chip per completed lap, up to 50 chips. Chips may be exchanged for cash or donated to the Last Man Standing Bucket at specific milestones:

The event is cup-less so competitors must use their own cup or bottle. Participants must be 19 years old or older. The Last Man Standing Bucket begins with a base amount and is awarded to the competitor who completes the final solo lap. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
