The Fort 20

The Fort 20 is a looped trail event that starts and finishes within the walls of the 18th Century Landguard Fort on the Suffolk peninsula, at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe, Suffolk. In collaboration with English Heritage the route crosses two nature reserves, two river estuaries and the Port.

The course covers a 20 mile mixed trail and is fully marked; a .gpx file is provided. The event includes three water and snack stations, a drop bag facility, a quality long-sleeve T-shirt and a race medal. Organisers state generous cut-offs and the event is licensed by the TRA and held under UK Athletics rules. Participants must be 18 or older on race day.

Event date and entry details are specified for the 11 October 2026 edition. Entries open 1 November 2025 and close 26 September 2026. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £40.00 and Unaffiliated £42.00. An optional entry protection product (XCover) is offered so participants may be able to seek a refund if unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. Trail runs nearby

A 24 hour trail running and camping weekend on the Shotley peninsula with a fully marked 4.3 mile coastal lap. Entries are available for solo runners and teams, with camping, chip timing, medals and optional sauna and breakfast.

An inaugural off road half marathon through Donyland Woods, Friday Woods and nearby countryside on Sunday 6th September. Entries were handled online and the event is listed as sold out with 26 entrants.

The Dedham Run on 13 September 2026 features a 10K road race, a new 10K trail run and a 3K fun run through rural Essex, supporting Dedham Primary School with water stations, race-number collection at The Duchy Field and on-site refreshments..

An autumn running event at Foxes Farm, Colchester on 27 September 2026 offering 10K, 5K and a 1K family dash over traffic-free farm tracks and past pumpkin fields, with chip timing, medals and an event village.
