The Eternal Damnation Backyard is a backyard ultra held at Wilson State Park in the Hell Creek area outside Dorrance, KS. The start and finish are at the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot. The course begins with three quarters of a mile on pavement and then continues entirely on single-track mountain bike trail that runs beside Wilson Lake. Each loop starts and ends in the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot.

This event follows standard backyard ultra rules. Each loop must be 4 miles 880 feet in length (metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers). Loops start precisely one hour apart and competitors must start at the bell; warning signals are issued three, two, and one minutes before each start. Except for restroom stops, competitors must remain on course until a loop is completed. No personal aids are allowed during a loop; common aid stations may be used. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; if no runner completes one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner. The race is open ended and timing of individual loops is optional.

A media team will provide around-the-clock coverage including live feeds and runner interviews. Each runner may have two crew members and there is space for pop-up setups. Water and a provided endurance fuel will be available; runners should be otherwise self-sustained. All participants receive a long sleeve shirt and a buckle showing exact mileage; additional awards and swag are provided for specific achievements. Minimum age is 16 unless accompanied by an adult.
