The Eternal Damnation Backyard Ultra takes place at Wilson State Park on the Switchgrass bike trail. This event follows the specific Big Backyard Ultra format, functioning as a last-man-standing competition. The course consists of loops measuring 4.167 miles (6.7056 kilometers). Participants must complete one loop every hour. The event continues until only one runner remains who can complete a final solo loop within the time limit.

Course Details

The race begins with approximately 0.75 miles on a paved surface to allow the field of participants to spread out. The remainder of the loop is held on a single-track mountain bike trail. The starting corral remains the same size throughout the event, and runners must be inside the corral when the bell rings to start each new loop.

Participant Information

This event has a limit of 100 participants. Each runner is permitted to have a maximum of two crew members for support. The following rules and facilities apply:

  • 10x10 foot area near the start/finish for participants to set up personal camps.
  • Proxima C endurance fuel, water, and coffee (at night) provided by the organizers.
  • Self-sustained format requiring runners to bring their own food and first aid.
  • No pacers, trekking poles, or dogs allowed during the competition.
  • Cup-less event requiring runners to bring their own hydration vessels.
