The Eternal Damnation Backyard is a backyard ultra scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wilson State Park (Hell Creek area) near Dorrance, Kansas. The start and finish are in the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot. Registration closes April 12. The event is presented by Ultraverse Supplements. Entrants must be at least 16 years old. No refunds and no bib transfers; deferral credit is available on a sliding scale (100% credit if canceled more than 60 days before the race, 50% before 30 days, 25% before 14 days).

Course and format

Each loop begins and ends at the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot. The course begins with about 3/4 mile on pavement, then continues entirely on single-track mountain bike trail that runs beside Wilson Lake. Each loop must measure 4 miles 880 feet (metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers). Loops start precisely one hour apart; each loop must be completed within the hour to count. Rules include no personal aid during a loop (common aid stations are allowed), no artificial aids (including trekking poles), and competitors must start on the bell. Timing of individual loops is optional. The race is open-ended; the winner is the last person to complete a loop.

Logistics and awards

Runners may have up to two crew members and should plan to be largely self-sustained; organizers provide water and Proxima C endurance fuel, but no electricity. All runners receive a shirt and a finishers plaque with their distance recorded on site. Special awards include recognition for the last person standing, assist, and top male and female last-standing finishers.
