The Eternal Damnation Backyard
The Eternal Damnation Backyard is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra scheduled for April 24, 2027 at Wilson State Park, Hell Creek area, outside Dorrance, KS. The start and finish are located in the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot.
Each loop is 4 miles 880 feet in length (metric 6.7056 kilometers). The course begins with three quarters of a mile on pavement before moving to single track mountain bike trail for the remainder of each lap. Each lap starts precisely one hour after the previous; every loop must be completed within the hour to count. Common aid stations are allowed but personal aid is not permitted while on a loop. Non-competitors are not allowed on the course. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not permitted. Timing of individual loops is optional.
The event provides 24/7 live media coverage by Limping Deer LLC with runner interviews, live feeds, and frequent social media updates. Event organizers provide water and Proxima C Endurance Fuel; runners are otherwise expected to be self-sustained and bring their own food. No electricity will be available for crews or runners. Each runner may have two crew members in the start/finish area.
Swag includes a long sleeve tri-blend shirt and a buckle showing exact mileage for every finisher. Runners who reach 24 hours (100 miles) receive a custom embroidered item mailed after the event.
