Eternal Damnation Backyard Ultra

Eternal Damnation Backyard Ultra is presented as the first Last Man Standing event in Kansas and is limited to 100 participants. The format is a backyard ultramarathon where runners repeat a measured loop until only one runner completes a lap that no other runner can match.

Each lap is fixed in length and must be completed within one hour. Runners must stay in the starting corral at the bell and each loop starts exactly one hour after the previous start. Timing of individual loops is optional. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner; otherwise the winner is the last person to complete a loop.

The course begins with about 3/4 mile of pavement and then continues on the Switchgrass bike trail at Wilson State Park along single-track mountain bike trail. The start/finish area is the only aid point on the course; runners are responsible for their own food and first aid and must carry what they need for each lap. No pacers, trekking poles, or dogs are allowed. Competitors may have up to two crew members and crew interaction is restricted to the start/finish area.

Additional event details include a 10 by 10 foot area per participant near the start/finish, separate parking for runners, provision of Proxima C Endurance Fuel, water, and nighttime coffee provided but runners must bring their own cup, and each finisher receives a race shirt and a buckle showing mileage.
