The ENDURrun Prelim
The ENDURrun Prelim is a six-day, multi-stage running event. It consists of six stages totaling 60 km.
The event features a variety of terrains and formats. Races are held across several parks and venues in the Waterloo region of Ontario. The schedule is as follows:
Stage 1: 10 km road race, two loops at RIM Park in Waterloo. Stage 2: 7.5 km time trial, out-and-back at Riverbluffs Park in Cambridge. Stage 3: 5 mile (approximately 8 km) cross-country race, three loops at Bechtel Park in Waterloo. Stage 4: 10.4 km technical trail run, four loops at Baden Hills in Wilmot. Stage 5: 3 km track race, 7.5 laps at St. David Catholic Secondary School in Waterloo. Stage 6: Half marathon (21.1 km), three loops at RIM Park.
An optional prologue group run and a pre-race meeting precede the stages on Sunday, July 12th. Kit pickup is organized. The races are held on weekday evenings, except for the final stage which starts on Saturday morning.
Each stage has a specific time limit for completion. Failure to meet a time limit results in discontinuation from the event. Participants receive a technical t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Post-race refreshments and on-course fluid stations (water, Gatorade) are provided.
Awards are given to the top three overall and top three masters (no duplication). Leader bibs are awarded after each stage. Participant capacity is capped at 75. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
