Kitchener Kids with Cancer 2026
Kitchener Kids with Cancer takes place on September 19, 2026 at Kiwanis Park, 1000 Kiwanis Park Drive, Kitchener, Ontario. The event is part of Run Waterloo's Run Love series and supports the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario.
Distances offered:
- 5 KM - one loop with an out-and-back section
- 10 KM - two loops of the 5 KM route
- 5 KM - untimed walk option
- 200 m - kids race for age 7 and under
The course runs mostly on dirt trails within Kiwanis Park. Each kilometer is marked. Water stations are provided: one on the 5 KM course and three on the 10 KM course. Distances are certified and the course may change for official approval or construction. Participants are asked to keep to the right on trail sections. A time limit is applied using a pace of 10 minutes per kilometer; participants who do not meet the midpoint checkpoints may be required to continue without race support.
The first 700 entrants receive a technical t-shirt. All finishers receive a medal. Children 12 and under receive a reduced entry fee percentage on 5 KM and 10 KM entries. Strollers and their passengers must be registered; stroller occupants are free but must be accompanied by a participant in a different sub-event. Registration is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
Post-race refreshments and musical entertainment are provided; food trucks will be onsite for additional purchases. The event includes fundraising prizes and a 50/50 draw. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
