Kitchener Kids with Cancer 2026
The Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run marks its 13th anniversary at Kiwanis Park. This annual fundraising event is designed to provide a safe and healthy athletic experience for the community while supporting local charitable organizations. The course is held entirely within the grounds of the park and consists primarily of dirt trails.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 10 KM Run: a timed event consisting of two loops of the course.
- 5 KM Run: a timed event featuring a single loop with an out-and-back section.
- 5 KM Walk: an untimed version of the single-loop route.
- Kids 200m Run: a free event for children aged 7 and under.
- Future Runner: free registration for stroller occupants pushed by a participant.
The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and the courses feature certified distances. Each kilometer is marked and clearly visible. Water stations are positioned along the route, with one station for the 5 KM course and three for the 10 KM course. A time limit of 10 minutes per kilometer is in effect to minimize disruption to the public.
The first 700 registrants receive a limited edition technical t-shirt, and all finishers are awarded a medal. Post-race activities include musical entertainment, refreshments, and onsite food trucks. Kit pickup is available at Conestoga Mall during the days leading up to the race, or at the park on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
