The Ceely Rose Survival Run

Lucas, United States • 17-18 Oct 2026

Event Overview

The Ceely Rose Survival Run is a 12 hour endurance event held at Malabar Farm State Park in Lucas, Ohio. Participants navigate a course located near the historical site where Ceely Rose lived over 130 years ago. The event takes place overnight in a setting known for its local history and ghost stories.

Course Details

The race follows a loop of approximately 2.25 miles. The terrain consists of a mixture of the following surfaces:

  • Pavement
  • Gravel
  • Grass

Because the event occurs during the night, participants are required to use headlamps and wear reflective or fiber optic gear for safety, especially on road sections. The objective is to complete as many laps as possible within the 12-hour time limit.

Participation Formats

Runners may participate in one of two categories:

  • Solo Run: For individual participants aiming to complete the full duration alone.
  • Team Relay: For groups of up to four runners who wish to share the distance.

Amenities and Memorials

The organizers provide an aid station and portable toilets at the start and finish line area. Participants are encouraged to bring their own additional gear to support their efforts throughout the night. Those who register by October 7, 2026, receive a long-sleeved shirt. Awards are presented to the top three finishers. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Malabar Farm Foundation to assist in the preservation of the historical landmark.
