Course and race details

The trail system is made up of three different loops, each approximately 10 miles long. Half marathon entrants run one loop that goes up and over Bull Mountain plus a short section of double track to reach the half marathon distance. 50K runners complete each loop once, totaling about 30 miles with roughly 5,000 feet of total elevation gain. Runners pass the main aid station/start/finish after each loop.

The course includes mostly runnable single track with some technical sections, waterfalls, multiple stream crossings, rocky climbs, and steep descents. There are three aid stations stocked with vegetarian-friendly options, soups, fruits, some hot foods prepared in the evening, standard aid station fare, and volunteer specialties served until the last finisher. The event has a 12 hour cut-off. Pacers are not allowed. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers in each event. Challenge the Duncan Ridge Trail at Vogel State Park near Blairsville, Georgia with 50K or 30K trail routes. Scenic Coosa Backcountry sections, aid stations along the way, and proceeds benefit the park volunteers.

Run amid forest, creeks and the 729 foot Amicalola Falls in full and half trail races at Amicalola Falls State Park. Expect gutsy climbs on mostly singletrack, well stocked aid stations, finisher medals and pro timing.

Take on a backyard ultra at Amicalola Falls State Park, repeating a marked loop every hour until one runner completes the final solo lap. Each entrant carries a $100 bill and the last runner standing claims the cash prize.

Tackle scenic technical trails in Helen GA at the Helen Holiday Half Marathon on December 13 with half marathon and 10K options. Expect climbs, hiking sections and one aid station, plus a beanie, pint glass and medal.

Run Sawnee Mountain at Dirty Spokes Mayhem on the Mountain, a scenic but technical trail race with rocky roots, creek crossings and a ridgeline climb. Pick 5.15 mile or 3 mile distances and register early limited to 325 runners.
