The Barn Run : 5K Run/Walk in Williamston, MI

The Barn Run is a community road and trail event held in Williamston, Michigan. The primary course runs mainly on trails and follows the Red Cedar River; a course map is noted as forthcoming. The listed distance for the event is 3.1 miles.

Registration opens April 14. Fee levels described by the organizer include $30 through September 30 with a guaranteed t-shirt, $35 from October 1 through October 16 with t-shirts available as supplies last, and $40 for online race day registration with t-shirts not guaranteed. Participants aged 18 and under receive a $10 discount applied at checkout.

All participants will receive an inaugural finisher medal. Awards are planned for overall winner, masters, senior, and the top three finishers in each listed age group for male and female divisions. Age groups include 12 & under, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, and five-year increments from 20-24 through 80+.

Packet pickup is available the night before at the barn with times to be determined, and on the morning of the event beginning at 8:00 am. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and live results will be available after the race. Proceeds benefit people with disabilities and special needs. Three trail races at Island Lake Recreation Area near Brighton, MI include two night events and an overnight 100K that uses two loops of the 50K course. The inaugural event has a 450 runner cap and a total prize purse of $9,750.
