The Aliza Lapierre Fan Club Trail Race

The Richmond Trail Running Club organizes a volunteer-run charity trail race in Richmond, Vermont. This is the fifth annual running of the event. Profits are donated to support affordable skiing and snowboarding lessons for area youth and families through the Cochran's Ski Area non-profit.

The 50k course covers about 8 miles of road and 23 miles of rugged trails through Huntington, Starksboro, Hinesburg and Richmond, with more than 5,000 feet of total climbing. The 26k course covers about 3 miles of road and 13 miles of rugged trails through Huntington, Hinesburg and Richmond, with more than 2,500 feet of climbing. Both races finish at Cochran's Ski and Bike Area in Richmond. Aid stations provide snacks and drinks roughly every 5 to 7 miles.

The 50k starts at Brewster-Pierce Elementary in Huntington and the 26k starts at Hayden Hill Road East in Hinesburg. Participants have time limits to complete their courses: 10 hours for the 50k and 7 hours for the 26k. Registration closes on Friday, July 17 at 12:00 AM ET and day-of registration is not offered. Trail runs nearby

The Mucker offers a choice of trail adventures in Hubbard Park, from a 5k hike or ruck to a 5k or 5-mile run. It's part of the Montpelier Mudfest weekend. A kids' obstacle course event runs concurrently on the State House lawn.

This 6-mile mountain race tackles steep trails and muddy terrain at Cochran's Ski Area. After the run, enjoy pancakes and watch the free kids' race. It's the opener for the USATF-New England Mountain Running Series.
