Thames Meander Autumn

Thames Meander Autumn is a riverside trail event organised by Hermes Running from the Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts HQ, Douglas House Meadow, Richmond, TW10 7AH. The route follows the Thames Path towpath out toward Barnes and returns on the same out and back course to the start location.

All three distances run alongside the river on a largely flat, runnable surface. The route is waymarked and marshalled, and the turnaround points at Kew Gardens (CP2) and opposite Barnes Sports Club (CP3) are staffed. The course is on public paths and may be used by walkers, cyclists and other path users.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km: one out and back lap to Kew Gardens Car Park CP2.
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles): one out and back to opposite Barnes Sports Club CP3.
  • Marathon: two 13.1 mile out and back loops to opposite Barnes Sports Club CP3.

There are three check points: CP1 Start / Finish at Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts HQ, CP2 at Kew Gardens Car Park Ferry Lane, and CP3 opposite Barnes Sports Club on the Thames Path. Check points are stocked with high energy food, gels, drinks and electrolyte powders. Medical cover is provided by KLP Medics at CP1 and CP2. Entry fees range from £35 to £55 depending on distance.
