Terror Trails Ultra

Terror Trails Ultra is a trail running event at Cane Creek Park in Waxhaw, NC. It is in its third year and offers multiple distances on natural singletrack that include rocks, roots, creek crossings and notable elevation changes.

Distances offered:

  • 50K - two laps of the 25K loop with six aid stations and a 10 hour cutoff.
  • 25K - one lap of a 15.5 mile loop with two aid stations, 8 hour cutoff.
  • 8 Miler - one lap on an 8ish mile loop with one aid station.
  • 4 Miler - one lap of an introductory 4ish mile loop with one aid station.

All registered participants receive race entry for any distance and a cookout lunch. Shirt orders are purchased separately. Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drink and snacks; runners expected to be on course 90 minutes or longer are advised to carry a hydration vest.

Packet pickup is on-site and opens at 7am on race morning. The event notes weather can range from the 40s to the 80s, so prepare accordingly. Registration closes the evening before the event. A 5K trail race at McAlpine Park on July 25, 2026, run on the Larry McAfee XC course. Prizes go to overall and age group winners, and to the team with the most participants; registration runs April 30 to July 11, fee $40.

Six-race trail series at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill from May to August with 3 to 5 mile courses, door prizes, finishing awards, and points-based series scoring.

Join this student led 5K at McAlpine Creek Park to support local food banks. Run or walk through scenic regional championship trails to help provide meals for families in North Carolina.

An eight hour trail endurance event at Daniel Stowe Conservancy where participants run or walk as many 5K loops as they choose, with tiered registration and fundraising for the conservancy.
