Talan’s Notorious Trail 24/12/6 hour

Talan’s Notorious Trail is a timed running event held at The Bay View Inn in Widemouth Bay, Bude. The event uses a looped 5 mile course that follows a coastal and canal route with a nature trail section.

The event offers these formats:

  • 24 hour event
  • 12 hour event
  • 6 hour event
  • Cub Fun Run

The loop looks out over Widemouth Bay, follows a nature trail to the Wier, and returns along the Bude canal to the bay views. The main timed events have an age limit of 20 years or older. Entries are available for solo runners, pairs, and teams. Camping is included with entry from Friday night through to Monday morning and covers the competitor plus one adult and any children under 16. The event is organised by Bude Rats Run and Tri under a UK Athletics race licence.

Event administration notes include that transfers deferrals and cancellations are not accepted though an optional refund protection product is offered. Three short sections of road mean standard headphones are not permitted; bone conducting headphones are allowed but discouraged. The race director will publish specific race rules which must be followed and whose decisions are final.

Surplus funds raised by the event go to Talan’s Trust to support childhood cancer research and services for affected siblings and teenagers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
