  • 10K

The 2026 edition adds a 50K that completes an out-and-back of the classic 25K route. The event is presented by Great Lakes Endurance and, for the 2026 season, operated by Aravaipa Running. Entry is limited to 250 participants across all distances. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, and age-group awards are specified for standard age brackets.

Course and logistics

The course starts on the Tahqua Trail 4.3 miles west of Whitefish Bay and follows a dirt forest road along the Tahquamenon River to the North Country Trail (NCT). The single-track NCT traverses spruce swale, pine ridges, bogs, Jack Pine savannah, and passes Camp 10 and Water Tank lakes. Runners reach Lower Tahquamenon Falls about 9.5 miles in; the route then joins the River Trail with old growth hemlock and yellow birch and finishes near the Upper Tahquamenon Falls.

Aid stations are provided: the 25K references stations at about 3.5 and 9.5 miles, and longer-course aid stations are listed at approximately 4, 8.4, 12.8, 18.2, 22.6, and 27 miles; many stations are vehicle-accessible. Runners are required to carry a 20 oz water bottle or other functional hydration system that can be refilled at aid stations. Bus transportation to the 25K and 10K start locations is included with entry. Dogs are allowed in the start/finish area but not on the race course.
