Tahqua Trail Run - Tahquamenon Falls State Park

Tahqua Trail Run is a trail running event held in Paradise, Michigan, within Tahquamenon Falls State Park in August 2026. The event offers multiple distances that use forest roads, single-track trail and River Trail sections along the Tahquamenon River.

Distances:

• 50K out-and-back of the 25K course
• 25K follows the North Country Trail and River Trail through varied forest habitats
• 10K starts near Lower Tahquamenon Falls and finishes above the Upper Falls

The 25K course follows a dirt forest road to the North Country Trail, passing spruce swales, pine ridges, bogs, Jack Pine savannah, and small lakes before reaching Lower Tahquamenon Falls. The River Trail section features old growth hemlock and yellow birch. Aid stations on the 25K are located near 3.5 and 9.5 miles and are stocked with cold water and electrolyte and gel options. Runners on both the 25K and 10K must carry a roughly 20 oz water bottle or other functional hydration system; stations allow refills.

Race logistics note a combined participant limit of 250 entrants by permit. Race fees include bus transportation to the 25K and 10K start locations, a custom race t-shirt by the entry deadline, and post-race refreshments. Packet pick-up takes place at the Paradise Lakefront Lodge. Awards are given to the top three in each age group.
