The Tahqua Trail Run takes place on August 8, 2026, in Paradise, Michigan. The event is held at Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

Distances

The event offers three distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 10K

The 50K distance is a new addition for the 2026 season. It will start at the Tahquamenon Falls parking lot and feature an out-and-back on the classic 25K route.

Course Description

The course begins on the Tahqua Trail. Runners follow a dirt forest road along the Tahquamenon River before reaching the North Country Trail. This single-track trail winds through varied terrain including spruce swale, pine ridges, bogs, and Jack Pine savannah, passing Camp 10 and Water Tank lakes.

Runners reach Lower Tahquamenon Falls approximately nine and a half miles into the race. The course then transitions to the Lower Falls trails before merging with the River Trail, which travels along the Tahquamenon River through old growth hemlock and yellow birch forest. The route finishes near the Upper Falls.

This 9-mile trail run connects the scenic Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan. The technical course features a new pedestrian bridge and a strict 90-minute cutoff to reach the aid station. Registration is limited to 100 runners.
