Event overview
The Sydney Trail Half Marathon is a trail half marathon held at Lake Parramatta Reserve in Sydney. The race uses a single-lap course that combines waterfront trails, technical single track and fire trails. The route includes a waterfall, lakeside views and eucalypt canopies. The distance is 21 KM with total elevation of +386 m / -386 m. Entry is limited to 400 runners per day and participants must be 18 years or older.
Course support and requirements
Aid stations are located on course near the 9.5 km and 14.5 km marks, with an additional aid station at the finish. The on-course offerings include an energy drink mix, fruits, lollies and water. There is a strict 4 hour cutoff for the half marathon. Race entries include a running singlet, race photos and a finisher’s medal; finishers also receive a bucket hat and there is a post-race BBQ and a cafe nearby.
All runners must carry mandatory gear: a fully charged mobile phone with a live SIM and internet access, a compression bandage, and water-carrying capacity of 500 ml. The event is cupless, so athletes must bring their own cup, bottle or hydration system. Parking is available outside the lake and on surrounding streets; no parking is allowed inside the lake. Multiple road crossings on the course will have marshals to assist. A bag drop is provided at the event gazebo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
