About the race
SOS - St Ives is a Saturday Orienteering Series event held at St Ives High School with activities also using St Ives Public School grounds. It runs as part of the Term 4 program focused on school‑ground orienteering with short, fast courses that navigate buildings, courtyards, stairs, and open areas. Each session uses a new map and route choices, and includes a social relay for teams of 2 to 4 runners as part of the single entry. Course options listed for the session include Warm Up (recommended for beginners), Short Line, Long Line, Score, and a weekly relay course.
Entrants may run multiple courses on the day. SPORTident electronic timing is used for all courses; hire of a SPORTident timing card is available for entrants who do not own one. Meeting point is St Ives High School, 91 Yarrabung Rd, St Ives NSW 2075, referenced on What3Words as ///hills.needed.codes. Entry pricing includes GST and merchant fees and examples given are A$18 for adults and A$15 for school students with a member discount available; timing card hire is A$4.
A free Buddy Ticket is offered for adults who accompany a young or inexperienced participant without receiving a personal timing chip or map.
