About the race
The Sydney Trail Half Marathon is a single-lap trail race held at Lake Parramatta Reserve. The event covers a distance of 21 km and is staged over two race days: Saturday 12 December 2026 and Sunday 13 December 2026. The course runs through forested reserves with lakeside views, a waterfall, and eucalypt canopy, mixing technical single-track sections with more open fire trail portions and varied hills.
Aid is available on course with a single aid station served at approximately the 9.5 km and 14.5 km marks, plus an aid point at the finish. The race is a cupless event; athletes must carry their own drinking cup, bottle, flask, or hydration vest and have water-carrying capacity of at least 500 ml. Mandatory items to carry include a fully charged mobile phone and a compression bandage.
There is a strict four-hour cutoff for the half marathon. Race capacity is limited to 450 runners per day. Bibs are collected on race morning from the Race Hub; bibs are not posted out. Participants receive free race photos, a finishers medal, a race singlet, and a bucket hat. A post-race area includes a BBQ, a cafe, bag drop under a 180 Cadence gazebo, and access to a nearby swimming area. Parking is available outside the lake and on surrounding streets; parking inside the lake is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
