About the race

The Bondi to Manly Ultra is an 80 km point-to-point running event that follows the Bondi to Manly walking track around Sydney Harbour. The event offers a solo 80 km option and two relay formats: two-person relays of 40 km each and four-person relays of approximately 20 km each. All solo and relay entries for the described edition are listed as sold out.

The route begins at Bondi Pavilion and finishes at Manly Beach, moving along coastal cliffs, harbour foreshore, national parks and city waterfronts. The course is described in four legs with distance and elevation gain for each:

  • First leg: 19 km, 329 m elevation gain, Bondi Beach to Lyne Park, Rose Bay.
  • Second leg: 20 km, 360 m elevation gain, Lyne Park to Milson Park, North Sydney, passing Rushcutters Bay, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
  • Third leg: 23 km, 326 m elevation gain, Milson Park to Clontarf Reserve, featuring Cremorne Point and trails around Bradleys Head.
  • Fourth leg: 18 km, 256 m elevation gain, Clontarf Reserve to Manly Beach via the Spit to Manly route and North Head Sanctuary.

The event material also notes partnerships, training resources, volunteer and support-crew roles, and acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
