The Surf Run takes place on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, approximately 1.5 hours south of Adelaide. The event is centered around Horseshoe Bay in Port Elliot, with the course extending towards the township of Goolwa. This event serves as the fifth race in the 2025-26 Summer Series organized by Adelaide Trail Runners.
Participants can choose from several distances held on Sunday, while a dedicated event for children takes place on the preceding Saturday afternoon. All Sunday distances start and finish at the Port Elliot Caravan Park. The available distances include:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 15 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Kids Race (Saturday)
The course includes multiple aid stations located at various turnaround points, specifically at the 2.5 km, 5 km, 7.5 km, and 10 km marks. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks such as lollies and potato chips. At the 15 km turnaround point, which is accessible to both 15 km and 21.1 km runners, additional provisions are available.
All finishers across all distances, including the children's race, receive a medal. Winners' medals are also awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each Sunday event. Participants can collect their race bibs on Saturday afternoon during a sponsors expo or on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
