The Sugarloaf Winter fell race is scheduled for Sunday 25 January 2026 in County Wicklow, based at Kilmacanogue GAA Grounds. The main course distance is 8.60 km with a climb of 417 m. A short junior course of 4.00 km is also provided. The event is part of the Winter League Leinster. Race marking will show only major junctions and GPS use is not allowed. The event carries a difficulty rating of 6 (Easy Terrain, 6 km - 10 km). Parking is available at the GAA grounds. Entry details are not yet published; entries for league events usually open a couple of weeks before the event.

Course, kit and rules

The route starts at the Sugarloaf Way a few hundred metres from the GAA car park and registration. It follows the Sugarloaf Way anti-clockwise, includes an extra loop over motorbike trails, returns along the Sugarloaf Way, then turns back with views over Bray. At a T-junction the route turns right, ascends to the shoulder passing the summit without reaching the top, then descends the main trail to the Glenview side and returns to the GAA pitch. The junior route is an out-and-back to the barrier at the GAA grounds, finishing at the 2 km point where the gritted trail ends. Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard: waterproof jacket; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with emergency number stored; foil blanket, bivvy bag or equivalent.
