Sugarbush Shenanigans

Sugarbush Shenanigans takes place at Sugarbush Vineyards & Winery in Hillier, Ontario, and is part of the OUTRace Series. The event is built around repeatedly running a short loop for a set duration.

Race options include:

  • 6 hour solo
  • 12 hour solo
  • 24 hour solo
  • 24 hour relay team
  • 12 hour night option

The course is roughly a 3 km loop, described as flat and non-technical. About half the loop runs through a private wooded trail and the other half crosses an open meadow and circles the vineyard. Participants run the loop multiple times until their allotted time ends.

Rules state that runners may stop between loops and do not need to run continuously. Participants who leave before their event time ends must inform the timing crew of their official finish. Relay teams may divide loops as they wish provided each member completes the loop at least once. Timing will be done manually.

Facilities include a designated area for tents and drop bags, an aid station with water and snacks, a hot food menu including made-to-order grilled cheese and perogies, and late night Fireball Sangrias for those 18 and over. The event is cupless so participants must bring their own water bottle or bladder. Porta potties and hand-washing stations are available; there are no showers or change rooms. Tent-only camping is permitted the night before at no extra cost and campers must supply their own water. Awards will be given to the top male and female by loops completed and to the relay team with the most loops. Swag will be provided to all participants and a size selection deadline is noted.
