Sugarbush Shenanigans : An ultrarunning experience

The event takes place at Sugarbush Vineyards & Winery in Hillier, Ontario. Runners complete an approximately 3 km loop that is flat and non-technical, half on a private wooded trail and half across an open meadow and around the vineyard.

Available race formats include:

  • 6 hour solo
  • 12 hour solo with an evening option
  • 24 hour solo
  • 24 hour relay teams

Timing is manual. Participants must inform the timing crew when they leave the course before their allotted time ends. Continuous running is not required; breaks between loops are allowed. Relay teams may divide loops as they wish provided each member runs at least one loop.

A designated area is available for tents, chairs and drop bags. The venue is private property and unauthorized use of off-limits areas will result in disqualification and removal. Tent-only camping is allowed the Friday before the event at no extra cost for those who select the option; campers must provide their own water. Water provided by the organizers is for runners on the course only.

An aid station will offer water, snacks and a hot food menu. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottle or flask. Porta potties and hand-washing stations will be on site. A yoga tent with scheduled sessions will be present. Awards include sustainable prizes for the top male and female by loops and a group prize for the relay team with the most loops. Swag is provided to all participants with size selection at checkout and a cut-off date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
