After crossing a village road the route follows the High Peak Trail across open farmland and passes wind turbines near Ryder Point Quarry.

Runners climb to the trig point on Harborough Rocks then descend through crags to the High Peak Trail. The middle section includes a flat stretch on the former railway track then runs across Carsington Pastures with views of Carsington Water before returning toward Middleton Top. The final mile runs down through Middle Peak Quarry and along the edge of Stoney Wood to the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
