Steve Dick Memorial Stride Through The Woods

The Steve Dick Memorial Stride Through The Woods is a 5 km multi-terrain trail race located near Hyde. Organized by Hyde Village Striders RC, the event utilizes the natural landscapes of the Tame Valley. The race serves as a season opener, taking place during the spring months.

The event follows a two lap course that is entirely off-road. The route incorporates several different types of terrain, including bridleways along the riverside, dirt paths through wooded areas, and sections across grassy fields. While much of the course typically offers good going, some rougher patches exist. Depending on recent rainfall, participants may encounter mud in certain sections of the trail.

The race is open to participants aged 13 and over. Registration is available for both UKA affiliated and unaffiliated runners. The headquarters for the event is located at the Bennett Street Youth and Community Centre. While refunds are not provided for entries, the organizers allow for the transfer of race numbers to other runners at the registration desk on the night of the event.
