St. Croix 40 Winter Ultra
The St. Croix 40 Winter Ultra is a winter survivalist event held in Hinckley, Minnesota. Participants travel through St. Croix State Park, navigating a course of approximately 40 miles. The event is designed in the spirit of longer winter endurance races and requires participants to travel through a cold Minnesota night while carrying all essential survival gear.
Athletes can choose to complete the distance using one of three methods:
- 40 Miler Run
- 40 Miler Ski
- 40 Miler Fat Bike
The event focuses on winter survival skills alongside physical endurance. Throughout the course, participants must undergo two specific skill tests to demonstrate their ability to utilize their survival gear. These requirements are intended to help individuals prepare for larger winter ultra-endurance challenges.
