About the race
The St. Croix 40 Winter Ultra takes place January 9 to 10, 2027. It is a winter survivalist race held in St. Croix State Park in Minnesota. Participants travel roughly 40 miles through park terrain during a cold Minnesota night.
Racers may compete by foot, on skis, or on a fat bike. Everyone carries all essential survival gear for the overnight conditions. The event includes two skill tests at separate points on the course that require participants to demonstrate use of their survival gear.
