Sphinx AC Coombe 8 takes place on Sunday 2nd November at Coombe Abbey on the outskirts of Coventry. The course is multi-terrain, mixing wooded trails and undulating farmland at the historic site. Race headquarters are located outside the main visitor centre at Coombe.

Entries, prizes and event services

The event has a limited field; 235 of 400 places were recorded as entered. Entries close 31st October, and early bird prices apply for entries made before 18th August. The entry fee includes a race memento and hot chocolate at the finish. Cash prizes are available for the first three finishers and for age category winners in the main 8 mile race.

Full race day details will be emailed seven days before the event. A mobile medical crew will be on standby throughout the event. The organiser provides a transfer process through the event entry system that issues a transfer code for taking up a transferred place. Trail runs nearby

Near Market Harborough, run a 5 mile out and back through the atmospheric Oxendon Tunnel with moody lighting; bring a headtorch. Pick night or dawn for a sunrise reveal and earn interlinking medals if you take on both.

Tackle the Seagrave Wolds Challenge, an annual 16 mile cross country run through the hilly Leicestershire Wolds. Not timed as a race, it is a true personal test across varied terrain and all well behaved dogs are welcome.

Take on undulating trails, muddy paths and a shallow stream at the Action Heart Tuff Un, a rugged 6 miles at Baggeridge Country Park in Dudley on 16 November 2025. Enjoy a muddy multi terrain challenge while supporting Action Heart.

Light up Salcey Forest for the Petzl Night Trails 10k, a fully marked two lap trail run under torchlight. Head or chest torches are required and you can expect muddy trails, a friendly vibe, Petzl demo torches and hot drinks.

Take on the Dormouse Challenge, a six hour off road loop at Salcey Forest on 21 November 2025 where you can run, walk, hike or ruck as many 3.5 mile laps as you like. Canicross welcome and the event supports Roald Dahl’s charity.

Run a scenic 5 mile winter trail around Bromsgrove, through woodland valleys and quiet lanes, starting and finishing at the Park Gate Inn. Expect undulating, muddy terrain, friendly marshals and a finisher medal.
