ASCO Spartacus Dash
The ASCO Spartacus Dash is an obstacle course race held annually in Belton, Texas. The event, established in 2012, takes place at Confederate Park and follows a route along and inside Nolan Creek. The main course covers a distance of approximately 3 miles.
Participants navigate more than 20 engineered obstacles throughout the course. These features use the natural landscape and constructed elements to test movement and agility. The obstacles include:
- 3 miles with 20+ obstacles
- Kids course for younger participants
Specific obstacles on the route include dirt hills, cargo net walls, and a rope swing over the creek. The course also features a mud pit crawl, a zip line, tire fields, and a slippery tarp slide. Some sections include water elements such as an ice bath, tunnels, and a cliff hanger.
The event is open to a range of ages, specifically for those between 5 and 105 years old. The race partners with the Gary Sinise Foundation, a charity that provides support programs for veterans, first responders, and their families. The obstacles are prepared locally by event sponsors to provide a variety of physical tasks in a natural park setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
