Dana Peak Trail Run
The Dana Peak Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Dana Peak Park in Harker Heights, Texas. The park is a 560-acre site on the northern shore of Stillhouse Hollow Lake and is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The location is about one hour from both Waco and Austin.
Course, distances and logistics
The trails run along rocky shore terrain, with climbs and descents. Most of the trail is in trees, with some exposed sections and multiple peaks along the shore. Each distance follows a single loop with limited repeat trails.
- 100K - two 50K loops, ≈6708 ft ascent/descent
- 50K - one loop, ≈3354 ft ascent/descent
- 20K - one loop, ≈1530 ft ascent/descent
- 10K - one loop (listed as ≈7 miles)
The 50K/100K course has six aid stations per loop; most are 3-5 miles apart, with one segment of 7 miles between stations. Aid station supplies vary; remote Lost-n-Found station offers water, Gatorade, SaltStick and first aid at a minimum. The race is cupless and all runners must carry a hydration device. One drop bag location is available at the Stillhouse Hollow aid station (approx mile 18 for 50K/100K and mile 49.5 for 100K only). Pacers are allowed only for 100K runners on the second loop. Finisher items: 100K receives a buckle; 50K/20K/10K receive medals. Prize awards are listed for top overall and masters finishers. Camping is primitive only; RV camping is not allowed this year.
