Dana Peak Trail Run

The Dana Peak Trail Run takes place at Dana Peak Park. The park is on the north shore of Stillhouse Hollow Lake in Harker Heights, Texas. It is about an hour's drive from both Waco and Austin.

The course follows rocky trails that ascend and descend along the lake shore. Much of the trail is in wooded areas, with some exposed sections. Runners climb several peaks, offering views of the lake. Each race distance follows a single loop with limited repeated trail sections. The elevation gain for the 50K distance is 3,354 feet.

Distances offered are 100K, 50K, 20K, and 10K.

All runners must carry their own hydration device, such as a water bottle or hydration bladder, to participate. Runners in the 100K and 50K races need to carry enough water for the longest segment between aid stations, which is 7 miles.

Park entry costs $5 per car, and carpooling is recommended. Primitive tent or car camping is available for runners and volunteers from Friday evening, though there is no water or electricity. All campers must arrive by 8 p.m. on Friday.

Volunteers for the event can earn race credits for future events organized by Blaze Trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
