South Burnett Express Rail Trail Relay

The South Burnett Express Rail Trail Relay is a team running event in the South Burnett region of Queensland held on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Teams of five to eight runners cover a series of relay legs that together total 60 km along the trail between Kingaroy and Wondai and return to Kingaroy.

Each leg is run by one team member before tagging the next runner, with individual legs averaging about 5 km. The event records team order on return to Kingaroy to determine the winner. The relay format emphasizes team rotation and route navigation along the rail trail.

A separate 1 km kids race is also scheduled so younger participants have a short course suited to children. Results from previous years are maintained and photographic records exist from past editions.

Logistics, race rules, a schedule for the day, and frequently asked questions are provided by the organiser for participants. The event operates with support from local partners and community groups in the South Burnett area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
