BVRT100s 2026 : Brisbane Valley Rail Trail events in Yarraman and Ipswich

The BVRT100s comprises multiple long-distance events along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, staged around Yarraman and finishing at the Ipswich Grammar School playing fields. Routes use sections of the BVRT and link sites including the Yarraman Heritage Centre, Toogoolawah, Coominya and Brassall.

Distances offered:

  • 200 mile from IGS to Yarraman and return, crew mandatory
  • 100 mile from Yarraman to IGS Playing Fields
  • 100 km (Beginners Edition) from Harlin to IGS Playing Fields
  • 50 mile (Fun Run) from Toogoolawah to IGS Playing Fields

Full participants receive access to hydration, nutrition and electrolyte support on course, medical services during the event, a quality event garment, a tankard and a finishers medal on completion. Pacers are permitted on specified legs and receive the same support and public liability cover as full participants. The 200 mile event requires qualifying results from listed races or combinations of races within specified timeframes; exceptions and detailed qualifying rules are provided for certain events. Dead Cow Gully Backyard Ultra challenges runners to a 6.7 km loop each hour until one remains. Set on a 1600 acre cattle property near Nanango, Queensland, the course threads timbered ridges, creek flats and a historic homestead.

On Sunday, 12 July 2026 the Somerset Rail Trail Classic offers runs and walks of 3 km and 8 km plus 20 km and 44 km bike rides along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, highlighting regional scenery and community participation.

A team relay along the South Burnett rail trail covering 60 km between Kingaroy and Wondai. Teams of five to eight run average 5 km legs and a 1 km kids race is included.
