Slane Castle 5km Trail Run/Walk 2026
The Slane Castle 5km Trail Run/Walk takes place at Slane Castle in County Meath on Sunday, 24 May 2026. The event uses a 5 km route that winds through the castle estate and includes a forest trail along the River Boyne.
The event is organised by the Parents’ Association of St. Patrick's National School with support from Meath Local Sports Partnership, Slane Castle, and the Civil Defence. It serves as the main fundraiser for the Slane National School Parents’ Association, with proceeds used to improve outdoor learning spaces.
T-shirts are provided to the first 200 adult entrants on the day and the first 200 under-16 entrants. Finishing medals are available for the first 400 participants to cross the line. After the event, refreshments and home-baked goods are available free of charge to those who support the event.
Parking is available on the castle grounds. Pets are not permitted within the Slane Castle grounds. The route is described as suitable for walkers, joggers, runners and for participants using buggies, and is intended for a wide range of abilities.
