Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase & Backyard Ultra takes place in Casper, Wyoming on July 18, 2026. Parking, the start and finish area, and post-race activities are at the Casper Mountain Trails Center (9301 Casper Mountain Rd, Casper, WY 82601).
Two event formats are offered. One is an approximately 8 mile trail race run as two laps on a roughly 4.17 mile loop. The other is a Backyard Ultra, run as repeated 4.17 mile laps where the event continues until only one runner remains. The Backyard Ultra is listed on the Big's Backyard Ultra database.
The 8 mile course direction alternates by year: even-numbered years run clockwise and odd-numbered years run counterclockwise. For the Backyard Ultra, lap direction is determined by a coin toss for each lap.
Registration details include a limit on race souvenirs for the first 75 total registrants; souvenirs are not available after that limit. Entry fees are listed as $50 for the 8 mile and $60 for the Backyard Ultra. Prices increase on June 18 and again for registrations the day before the event, which are cash or check only.
