SISU 100 PNW - 100 Mile choose-your-own-adventure ultramarathon

SISU 100 PNW is a self-supported 100-mile event based at Camp Sheppard near Enumclaw, WA, just outside Mount Rainier National Park. The race uses six marked out-and-back mountain trails; trail distances range from approximately 3 to 19 miles. Runners must complete each of the six trails once before repeating any route. Completing all six yields about 57.5 miles, after which runners repeat trails of their choosing until they reach 100 miles. A trail may not be completed more than twice in a row.

All routes begin and end at basecamp, so runners return to Camp Sheppard between efforts. Basecamp provides water, electrolytes, snacks, a selection of common aid station items, tent space, showers, flushing toilets, and on-site medical support; participants remain responsible for their own food, hydration, and gear while on the trails. There are no aid stations on the trails.

Course rules require checking in and out at HQ before and after every trail, staying on marked trails, and completing each trail in its entirety. Any intentional shortcut or bypass will result in disqualification. Finishers who reach 100 miles before the official cutoff receive a custom SISU 100 belt buckle; no consolation buckles are awarded.

Required gear includes a headlamp with spare batteries, hydration pack or bottles, water filtration or purification, food and nutrition, visibility markers, a bear bell, a phone or GPS device, backup power, and weather-appropriate clothing.
